Summary
The Project Coordinator/Business Analyst is responsible for supporting the development of our new enterprise software systems, facilitating and performing project coordination duties, and assisting in a wide variety of documentation, coordination, and analysis activities. Candidates must have demonstrated a desire to work in a cooperative team environment and a proven track record of requirements analysis, developing software project documentation, and managing project level assignments. Responsibilities include taking ownership in resolving software issues, assisting other analysts and developers in assessing how requirements are addressed through the application, directly performing project activities or coordinating the performance of such activities with the customer, the project manager, and the project team. This position will be based in Helena, MT
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strong analytical and product/project management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer needs and translate them into application and operational requirements. Serve as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow.
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true software and data needs based upon customer requirements.
- Support the project manager and broader project team in their duties, tasks, responsibilities and functions; specifically including the development and maintenance of technical and project documentation and support for user acceptance testing and training.
- Assist in resolution of and communications regarding issues encountered in the application by the customer.
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements.
- As required read, understand, create, communicate, and interpret the following documents: Functional requirements, Technical Specifications, Business Requirements Documents, Use Cases, GUI, Screen and Interface designs.
- Represent requirements using alternative views, such as analysis models (diagrams), prototypes, or scenarios, where appropriate.
- As applicable, write requirements specifications and requirements clarifications according to standard processes, using natural language simply, clearly, unambiguously, and concisely.
- Assist in requirements analysis and verification, ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, traceable, feasible, unambiguous, and verifiable, determine requirements prioritization and that they conform to standards.
- Enter, manipulate, and report on requirements stored in a commercial requirements management tool. Define requirement attributes and facilitate their use throughout the project. Manage requirements traceability information and track requirements status throughout the project. Manage changes to base lined requirements through effective application of change control processes and tools.
- Assist project management and product management in product planning through a variety of activities including: requirements analysis, customer communications, and demonstrating application functionality.

- Experience performing training to end users is a plus.
- Experience performing quality assurance, including test case development and execution, is a plus.
Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s or Associates degree
- 3-5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3-5+ years experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, in elicitation of requirements through the use of review sessions, interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, storyboards, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, event lists, business analysis, competitive product analysis, task and workflow analysis, and/or viewpoints.
- Additional training and certification in technical writing, business writing, desktop publishing and design, and computer science/software development is desirable.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications is required.
- General familiarity with applications similar to the following is desired: PaintShop Pro, SnagIt, Acrobat, RoboHelp, Visio, PowerPoint, Axure, web page development tools, content management systems, and like applications desired.
