POSITION SUMMARY: The Quality Engineer will work directly with the Business Analysts, Development, Subject Matter Experts, and customers to define and perform functional and performance testing. This position will utilize existing software packages to track and maintain test cases, test runs, and issues throughout the testing process. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review business requirements, technical specifications, architectural diagrams, system designs, training materials, and other documentation to create, execute, and report the status of test scenarios, cases and scripts (test plan and results)
- Responsible for the automation and support of test scripts for FileONE developed software
- Create and perform manual test case execution
- Report and tracks problems and issues through resolution and release within issue tracking system
- Provide data, analysis, and problem research/recommendations, metrics and reporting for assigned projects/applications
- Work within team to develop testing solutions for various modules, product builds, installations of new software releases, beta versions and product updates
- Work closely with Product Management and Business Analyst to ensure adherence to functional requirements
- Participate in the review of specifications and requirements gathering for the QA department
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively in a team environment
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- 5+ years of experience in the areas of test strategy and planning, test creation and test execution
- 5+ experience in working directly with customers on User Acceptance Test plans • Web based and Client/Server application testing experience
- Experience with automation test tools, preferably HP QuickTest Professional (QTP)
- Relational Database experience highly desired
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Critical thinker with proven technical and problem-solving skills
- Highly Desirable: Load and Performance Test experience
- Highly Desirable: Bilingual (English/Spanish) w/ excellent verbal and written communication skills
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Management Information Systems preferred with at least 4 years of software development lifecycle experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated ability in areas of personal leadership, influence and impact. Able to understand and adapt to business drivers for technical decisions.
- Broad knowledge and experience in Systems Development Life Cycles, Testing Techniques, Systems Operations, Database Design, and Project Management Techniques. Significant Experience in and the software development lifecycle required.
